Trade and Investment: What Kazakhstan and Armenia Agreed On

On March 13, 2026, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Armenia, Bolat Imanbayev, held a meeting with the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, Gevorg Papoyan. The parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of Kazakh-Armenian trade and economic cooperation, reports DKNews.kz. Special attention was paid to expanding economic ties and intensifying business interaction between the two countries.

Increase in Mutual Trade
During the talks, the parties explored opportunities to increase the volume of mutual trade. Issues related to expanding the range of export-import goods and strengthening investment cooperation between the business communities of Kazakhstan and Armenia were also discussed.

Joint Projects in Various Sectors
The interlocutors noted the importance of implementing joint projects in key sectors of the economy. This includes cooperation in agriculture, food and light industry, construction, and infrastructure. These areas are planned to be developed within the framework of the Kazakh-Armenian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation and the recently established Business Council.

Regular Consultations Between the Countries
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to hold regular consultations between the relevant agencies and sectoral representatives of the two states. This format of interaction will allow for the prompt discussion of new projects and the expansion of economic partnership.

Plan of Bilateral Events
The parties also reviewed the schedule of joint events for the current year. The talks confirmed mutual interest in the further development of Kazakh-Armenian economic cooperation.
