Dining Out in Georgia Has Become More Expensive: Restaurant Prices Up 11% Year-on-Year
The average cost of a restaurant meal in Georgia increased by 11% in June 2026 compared to the same period last year. This is according to data from Georgia's National Statistics Office (Geostat), as reported by bm.ge.
The price increase also affected some of the country's most popular national dishes. The average price of khachapuri served in cafés rose by 10%, while prices in bakeries increased by 9%. The average price of a serving of khinkali in restaurants was up 8% year-on-year.
Beverages also became more expensive. Beer served in bars increased in price by 10% over the year, while coffee in cafés rose by 4%.
The rise in food service prices comes amid accelerating inflation in Georgia. According to Geostat, annual inflation reached 5.8% in June, while prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 5.6% compared to June of the previous year.
The price dynamics reflect continued inflationary pressure on Georgia's food service sector, as well as rising operating costs for restaurants and cafés.
