Golden Apple Quadruples Its Logistics Capacity in Kazakhstan

The cosmetics retailer “Gold Apple” has opened an upgraded distribution center (DC) in Almaty, according to prodengi.kz. The facility is now a vast 9,500-square-meter site. After reconstruction, the warehouse’s capacity increased by 45% and it can now process up to 15,000 orders per day. In addition, more than 300 new jobs were created. However, the company is not stopping there. The beauty retailer also plans to build another distribution center in Astana.

The reconstruction was carried out in two stages. In 2026, the second stage was completed: the warehouse was expanded, and its order-handling efficiency increased by 45%. But it’s not just about the numbers. “This is not just about figures. We also support gender equality: our team is made up of exactly 50% women and 50% men. Employees are residents of the Almaty region. All necessary conditions have been created: there are rest rooms, showers, and designated break areas. A mentoring program is in place, and there are examples of people rising from entry-level positions to management roles,” explains Logistics Director Andrey Golomidov.

After the expansion, delivery times have significantly improved. Previously, the warehouse processed 8,500 orders per day; now it handles up to 15,000. New products reach stores faster because the goods receiving time has been reduced from 48 to 36 hours. In Almaty, Astana, and Shymkent, orders can be delivered within two hours, while express delivery to stores in Astana and Shymkent now takes exactly 24 hours.

Local authorities are also satisfied. “The expansion of the ‘Gold Apple’ distribution center represents direct investment into the regional economy, and more than 300 jobs have been created.

Such projects demonstrate mutually beneficial cooperation between the state and business. We are confident that the new distribution center will become a solid foundation for the company’s further development. Over the past four years, 38 logistics projects have been launched in the Almaty region, bringing the total number to 43. As a result, the area of logistics centers has increased 17-fold,” said Acting Head of the Entrepreneurship and Industrial-Innovative Development Department of the Almaty Region, Aibol Rakhimbaev.

The warehouse has a capacity of 3,400 pallet spaces and up to 6.5 million units of goods. Each month, around 4.5 million items pass through it. “For us, Kazakhstan is a strategically important region,” adds the logistics director of “Gold Apple”. “There are already five stores here—more than in most other countries. The warehouse expansion has allowed us to process over 300,000 items per day. This means orders across the country will be delivered even faster.”

Currently, the center receives goods from both local and international suppliers, applies EAEU-compliant labeling, stores inventory for retail stores and online orders, and also assembles gift sets and cosmetic kits. Every day, goods are distributed from here to all “Gold Apple” stores in Kazakhstan. Products arrive directly from global giants such as L’Oréal, LVMH, and Estée Lauder. In addition, the warehouse serves as a transit hub for shipments to China and the UAE.

“We have a separate category called ‘Products from Kazakhstan.’ We run various promotional campaigns supporting local producers. These products are popular with consumers. Currently, their share is about 18% of total sales, and this figure continues to grow,” emphasized Andrey Golomidov.

The company plans to build a second distribution center in Astana with an area of 5,000 square meters. It is expected to speed up order delivery for the entire northern and eastern regions of Kazakhstan.
