Kazakhstan tourism sector to receive 1.3 trillion tenge in investment

Kazakhstan is implementing 328 investment projects in the tourism sector with a total value of 1.3 trillion tenge, reports Kapital.kz. According to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, their implementation is expected to create around 10,000 permanent jobs.

Among the projects already commissioned is the Oi-Qaragai mountain resort in the Almaty region, valued at 57 billion tenge, the ASP Arena sports and entertainment complex in Kонаev worth 11 billion tenge, and the multifunctional PetroRetail PFS roadside service facility worth 2 billion tenge.

Development of hotel infrastructure

One of the key priorities remains the development of the hotel sector. Within the ongoing projects, the launch of 25 international-level hotels is planned.

By the end of 2027, several major projects are expected to be completed, including the Hilton hotel in Shymkent worth 17.5 billion tenge, the Marriott hotel complex in Kонаev worth 28 billion tenge, and the “Zhibek Zholy” resort and entertainment complex worth 53.3 billion tenge.

Growth in sector investments

By the end of the year, investment inflows into the tourism industry increased by 33%, reaching 1.3 trillion tenge. The contribution of tourism to Kazakhstan’s economy amounted to 5 trillion tenge.

MICE tourism (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) is also showing positive dynamics. Thirteen international events held in the country generated around 18 million USD for the economy.

Promotion of tourism potential

In parallel, Kazakhstan continues to promote its tourism potential in international markets. Marketing campaigns are being implemented to attract foreign tourists, familiarization tours for foreign media and tour operators are being organized, and cooperation with international travel platforms is being developed.

According to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, further efforts will focus on promoting the country in Asian markets, including China and South Korea.
