Almaty to Host the 23rd International Trade Convention “World of Trade” and Eurasian Retail Procurement Center

From May 28 to 30, 2026, Almaty will host the 23rd International Trade Convention “World of Trade”, one of the key business platforms for retail executives across the Eurasian region. The event will bring together retail representatives from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Russia, and Belarus.

The Convention will also feature the International Procurement Center — a series of pre-arranged B2B meetings between retailers, suppliers, manufacturers, and technology companies.

The Convention has been held for over 13 years and annually unites business owners, CEOs, commercial directors, and heads of procurement departments from the region’s largest retail chains. A defining feature of the event is its closed format and high-level representation from the retail sector, ensuring direct dialogue with decision-makers.

The 2026 business program focuses on the transformation of retail through 2026–2030, including shifts in consumer behavior, the development of e-commerce, retail format efficiency, process automation, business margin improvement, and the impact of regulatory frameworks.

For retailers and commercial real estate developers, the program includes:

— discussions on new store formats and competition with online channels;
— meetings with retail property developers on traffic, leasing, and asset development;
— presentations of IT solutions and technologies to improve store efficiency;
— B2B negotiations with suppliers of goods, equipment, and services.

Participants and partners are expected to include representatives of leading retail properties and chains in the region, such as Dostyk Plaza, “Moskva,” Essentai Mall, Aport malls, as well as major retail chains in Almaty.

For FMCG companies, manufacturers, and distributors, the Convention offers an opportunity to present products and conduct direct negotiations with retail procurement departments. For technology companies, it provides a platform to showcase solutions in automation, analytics, logistics, and business performance management.

The program will also include analytical reviews of the Central Asian market, case studies from top retail executives, discussions with government representatives, an exhibition of industry solutions, and practical store visits in Almaty, including Small Food, SPAR, and Magnum.

According to the organizers, participants of previous editions have noted high negotiation effectiveness, expansion of partnerships, and an increase in contract volumes following the Convention.
