Uzbekistan plans to launch a logistics center with a capacity of 500,000 tonnes at Georgia’s Port of Poti in 2027, according to UzDaily.uz. In addition, the country intends to begin the practical implementation of a project at the Port of Anaklia.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced this during an open dialogue with entrepreneurs.

The development of international transport and logistics infrastructure also предусматривает the establishment of major logistics centers within the country. The new facilities are planned to be located in Alat, Termez, Yangiyul, Akhangaran, and Khanabad. The implementation timeline and project costs have not yet been specified.

A number of tax and customs measures are also предусмотрены to support Uzbekistan’s transport and logistics sector. In particular, customs duties and recycling fees on imported cargo trucks will be abolished.

In addition, a zero value-added tax (VAT) rate will apply to the provision of railway wagons for international transportation.

The development of logistics infrastructure is viewed as one of the key areas for expanding international transport connectivity and enhancing business opportunities. The establishment of new logistics centers could contribute to increasing the volume of international transportation, developing the region’s transit potential, and strengthening Uzbekistan’s trade and economic ties with foreign markets.
